Program Description:

Cloud9’s Certified Public Accounting (CPA) Development Program (the “Program”) is an enriched rotational program that combines practical experience, mentorship, and training that focus on relevant client engagements and industry topics with the overall goal of ensuring success on the CPA exam process.

The Program is a long-term investment in the future of Finance talent at Cloud9 and is supported at the most senior levels of the company as an important source of future financial and operational leaders. In addition to practical experience, mentorship and training, candidates are entitled to study time to help adequately prepare for the exams.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate Junior/Senior pursuing a degree and highly motivated to prepare for and pass the CPA examination
  • Demonstrated strong academic record, including, without limitation, course work that Cloud9 deems relevant to this position
  • Demonstrated accounting knowledge and techniques including awareness and understanding of all professional standards
  • Demonstrated basic tax awareness in all areas, including personal and business income, payroll, sales, and other taxes.

Technology Advisory – Jr. Business Intelligence Consultant

Description:

Our Technology Advisory team leverages the power of technology, data and analytics to uncover hidden relationships from vast troves of data, generate insights, and inform business decision-making. Our consultants work with clients to design and operationalize data capture techniques, structure and cleanse data and create powerful visualizations. Additionally, our consultants contribute to internal firm initiatives and ad-hoc analytics projects. 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a comprehensive library of documentation inclusive of process, methodology, and similar artifacts. 
  • Support the construction of back end data assets, including both Big Data (i.e complex SQL) and tiny metadata data sources like Google Sheets and Excel.
  • Gather and analyze large amounts of information expeditiously; sift through and analyze data, and develop compelling, insightful recommendations for leadership.
  • Perform data quality checks of digital analytics data to ensure data integrity
  • Support, build and maintain client-facing dashboards and reports, contributing to ongoing knowledge management.
  • Communicate, mentor, promote, detail and share methods to colleagues across the company.

Qualifications:

  • Experience driving strategic recommendations through statistical analysis (e.g. in SQL, R, Python, STATA, MATLAB).
  • Functional expertise using Office 365, Google Google Workspace
  • Excellent data analysis, modeling, SQL, with ability to communicate and influence effectively by presenting data in a compelling way
  • Strong design thinking and demonstrated experience in building low operational support solutions that are both extensible and scalable
  • Outstanding problem solving and analysis skills, combined with impeccable business judgment
  • Understanding of fundamental principles of the visual display of information, passion for tinkering with technology to build novel solutions

Cloud Technology Advisory – Google Workspace Admin

This hybrid internal & client facing role will provide you with the opportunity to support our core business functions by deploying applications that enable our people to work more efficiently and deliver the highest levels of service to our clients. You’ll focus on managing the design and implementation of technology infrastructure for Cloud9 as well as helping to develop both internal and client facing applications. 

Responsibilities:

As part of the team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Using Google Workspace application APIs;
  • Possessing experience with Java, J2EE, Python, other relevant languages including AngularJS, AJAX, HTML5, CSS3, XML, JSON, JQuery and JavaScript;
  • Demonstrating knowledge with web services and APIs (e.g REST, SOAP) and their application to Google Cloud services;
  • Using object-oriented programming and software design patterns;
  • Possessing experience with SQL databases, big data processing using Google BigQuery and related services;
  • Demonstrating knowledge of service-oriented architecture and application development;
  • Using Infrastructure-as-a-service platforms likeGoogle Cloud and AWS, including container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes;
  • Functioning-as-a-service serverless computing, and micro services;
  • Possessing knowledge of DevOps technologies such as CFEngine, Zookeeper, Capistrano, Chef, etc;
  • Demonstrating knowledge of design patterns, UML and Agile practices

  • Assisting with strategic tax planning including researching federal tax law and drafting technical memos.
  • Assisting with IRS audit defense including preparation of IDR responses and drafting issue responses as well as more formal appeals.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • 1-3 years’ experience in federal taxation
  • Preparation experience of federal tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals
  • Understanding of accounting for income tax provisions in accordance with ASC740
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • CPA certification if qualified to sit for the CPA; if not qualified, licensed attorney, enrolled agent, or other appropriate certification (or in the process of obtaining)
  • Excellent presentation and communications skills
  • Able to travel up to 25%
